Dark Nights

It will never cease to amaze me just how dark it gets here in the winter. And how fast it gets that dark.

There's such a huge difference between living on the eastern and western edges of a time zone -- at least, at the same latitude. My brother lived about eight hours north and twelve hours west of here, and their days get pretty short way up there (yes, I tell distance in hours).

But, man, look at it out there. The sun set at 4:15 and it's 4:40 now. And it's pitch black.
